Apr 12 2025, 3:00 pm

Not only is Vancouver chock-full of restaurants to check out, there are always new ones coming as well. Whether they’re highly anticipated international chains or your new favourite local restaurant, there’s something for everyone to be excited about.

But with so many new spots opening in and around the city, it can be hard to keep track of everything coming. That’s why we’ve compiled this list of upcoming restaurant openings.

From a classic Vancouver donut shop to an internationally renowned dumpling spot, here are some Vancouver restaurant openings to get excited about.

Cream Pony Mount Pleasant

North Vancouver’s Cream Pony announced on Instagram that it would be moving into the former Cartems Donuts Vancouver location at 2190 Main St., Vancouver.

“We are so freaking excited to announce that Cream Pony is coming to Mount Pleasant!” shared Cream Pony on Instagram. “Mount Pleasant has been my home for past six years and I still cannot believe that our lil pony will be joining the neighbourhood!”

Smart N Save Grocery and Cafe

Signs for Smart N Save have popped up at 5208 Rumble St. This spot was previously the location of a 7-Eleven.

Not much is known about this new location, but Smart N Save is not an unfamiliar name in the Metro Vancouver grocery scene. Its first location in Richmond has been around since 2004.

In February 2025, Smart N Save opened a new cafe concept at Marine Drive Canada Line Station in Vancouver. The Google listing for this new location refers to it as a grocery store and cafe, meaning that the cafe concept could be expanding and operating out of the store as well.

Boardwalk Burgers

On its website, Boardwalk Burgers has listed a Vancouver location at 2529 Renfrew St. as “Coming Soon.”
