24 highly anticipated restaurants opening in and around Vancouver

It’s no secret that Vancouver’s food scene is constantly evolving, and that means there’s always something new and exciting to try.
However, with so much change, it can be challenging to keep track of everything that is coming and going. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of some of the most exciting restaurants opening in and around the city.
From the largest cafe in Vancouver to the first true Peruvian cevicheria and raw bar, these are some of the most exciting openings coming soon.
C Market Coffee Vancouver

C Market Coffee
C Market confirmed to Dished that not only will it be opening its first location in Vancouver, but its location will be over 5,000 sq. ft.
For those unfamiliar with the brand, it’s a Korean-inspired cafe that currently operates three locations in Metro Vancouver, found in Pitt Meadows, Port Coquitlam, and Coquitlam.
Located at 5185 Main St., C Market Vancouver is right on the cusp of Queen Elizabeth Park and a quick 10-minute walk from Nat Bailey Stadium.

Pokey Okey Food Hall
The Pokey Okey Group (behind the poke restaurant of the same name) confirmed to Dished that it is gearing up to open a vibrant new food hall in Richmond.
For starters, Pokey Okey will be making its return to Richmond after having closed its original Richmond location in early 2025.
“Fans of the original will rejoice as this revival brings back the same signature flavours and hard-working team that made it a local favourite before its closure earlier this year,” said a representative from the Pokey Okey Group.
But for folks looking for something new, they’re also in luck. A new fast-casual Japanese eatery, specializing in gyudon, called Oishinoya, will be opening alongside a whimsical Japanese cafe called Nonbiri.

Kavita
This September, Mumbai-born chef Tushar Tondvalkar is opening his first restaurant, Kavita, in Mount Pleasant. Here, he will be bringing together the depth of regional Indian cuisine with B.C.’s seasonal ingredients.
Kavita’s à la carte menu will draw inspiration from India’s festival calendar, featuring dishes that reflect the country’s unique cultural traditions and celebratory foods. As the seasons shift and festivals like Holi, Diwali, Onam, and Eid approach, the menu evolves to highlight regional ingredients and specialties.
Examples of some of these menu items include the Bun and Butter (Manglorean banana buns and toasted coconut chili butter), Chicken Kebab Stuffed Morels (with korma sauce and green peas), and Puran Poli (milk cake, feuilletine, ghee, and chili crisp).

Paragon Tea Room Vancouver
Michelle Cheung, co-founder of Paragon Tea, told Dished that the company is opening a new location at 3432 Cambie St. and has signed a long-term lease, meaning it won’t be going anywhere for a while.
This location will feature a menu filled with classic Paragon offerings, including its selection of matcha, hojicha, and other teas.
As for the space, Cheung said customers can expect a more elevated and comfortable urban oasis vibe, with the intention of merging the traditional aspects of tea with the North American urban lifestyle.

Big Way Hot Pot (multiple locations)

Big Way Hot Pot is continuing its expansion in Metro Vancouver with three new locations set to open soon. First, its Lougheed location in Burnaby is expected to open on July 14, while its other Gilmore location will open sometime in August, and a Tsawwassen Mills location is expected to open sometime in December 2025.

Uchu Cevicheria & Raw Bar

We love a Vancouver first, and this is a Canadian first, too: The country’s first true Peruvian cevicheria and raw bar is opening in Chinatown.
Sister restaurant to the award-winning modern Peruvian spot, Suyo, Uchu will be offering diners a delicious deep dive into Peru’s coastal region.
Chef Ricardo Valverde and his talented team are behind this new venture, which will be opening in early fall.

Analog — Kingsway

Ronnie Olstad, president of Ninety Eight Food Co. (Analog’s parent company), confirmed that Analog is currently preparing to open a new cafe within the city at 776 Kingsway.
“The architecture of the building is probably what stands out the most, the shape of it, and how they were creative in making it work for that block. A lot of more traditional people wouldn’t have gone for that route,” said Olstad when speaking about the space.
Olstad said that he can’t put an exact date on the opening of this new location, but he predicts either July or August of this year.

Superbaba The Post

After getting its start in Victoria, Superbaba first landed in Vancouver as a food truck and then eventually opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Mount Pleasant. Now, the fast-casual Middle Eastern restaurant is gearing up to open its second Vancouver location at The Post.
Superbaba shared the news on its Instagram on March 25.
“I finally found the perfect space for Superbaba’s return to downtown Vancouver,” shared Chef and owner of Superbaba Dallah El Chami.

Sud Cafe

Sud Cafe, opening at 1082 Cardero St. in the former space of Cardero Grocery, aims to transport guests to the south of France in both its ambience and its food.
You’ll be able to find your typical cafe offerings like lattes and other hot and cold drinks, but there will be some drinks that offer a bit of a French and Mediterranean twist.

Oh Sweet Day! Bake Shop

Fans of anything sweet and delicious in Vancouver have most likely heard of Oh Sweet Day! Bake Shop, located at 1706 E. 1st Ave., Vancouver. But for those who haven’t, this bakery is best known for its shortbread, buttercream cakes, and cheesecake, which it claims are the “best in Vancouver.”
Now, the bake shop is preparing to expand further into Metro Vancouver with the launch of its second location in Port Moody. “We just put out the sign yesterday, and we’ve been getting lots of messages,” shared Oh Sweet Day! on Instagram. “THANK YOU! We are very excited!”

Bouquet Cafe
Bouquet Cafe is a combo coffee and flower shop set to open at 1482 Robson St.
“Our flower shop and café is a family-owned haven on Robson Street, designed to bring people together over the beauty of blooms and the warmth of a perfect cup of coffee,” said the cafe on its website. “We believe in creating a welcoming atmosphere where every detail reflects care, community, and connection.

Fiorino Lonsdale Quay

Fiorino is expanding its much-loved Chinatown concept.
You’ll find rustic Florentine flavours inspired by the backstreets of Tuscany, all on the second floor of the Lonsdale Quay Market.
In terms of specific dishes, Fiorino previously confirmed to Dished that it is planning on keeping the program similar to the Chinatown program, focusing on seasonality and classics it has become known for, like its Coccoli e Prosciutto.
As for the space, Fiorino will have a waterfront patio that overlooks the Vancouver harbour, as well as an intimate private dining room.

Cream Pony Mount Pleasant
North Vancouver’s Cream Pony announced on Instagram that it would be moving into the former Cartems Donuts Vancouver location at 2190 Main St., Vancouver.
“We are so freaking excited to announce that Cream Pony is coming to Mount Pleasant!” shared Cream Pony on Instagram. “Mount Pleasant has been my home for past six years and I still cannot believe that our lil pony will be joining the neighbourhood!”

Dope Bakehouse

Nemesis’ in-house baked good program, Dope Bakehouse, is getting its very own standalone location in North Vancouver soft opening on July 18.
A first for the Dope Bakehouse, known for its picture-perfect treats and signature cobalt blue boxes, the concept will be setting up shop at 650 Mountain Highway in a 3,000 sq. ft. space. The location will feature a kitchen facility, 15 seats, and a 24-foot ceiling.
The team has tapped design firm Sml Studio Architecture to create the space, which we’ve learned is “inspired by re-interpreted nostalgia.” We’re told to imagine curves of viennoiserie, colours of baked goods, and a glossy bar reminiscent of butter.

Gigi’s
Glowbal Restaurant Group, the team behind much-loved Vancouver restaurants like Black + Blue, Five Sails, Coast, and many more, has recently revealed that it’ll be opening a new restaurant concept in the heart of Vancouver’s financial district.
Called Gigi’s, the new restaurant will be serving up bold Mediterranean flavours alongside a sophisticated energy.
Not many details about the new restaurant have been revealed yet, but Glowbal did share that it will be an 8,000 sq. ft. restaurant that will seat 220 guests and offer a large patio.

Il Cappello Enoteca

Juno Kim
The team behind Dolce Amore is gearing up to open a new three-in-one concept with the help of renowned Vancouver chef Pino Posteraro (Cioppino’s) as the culinary director.
Currently, its indoor/outdoor gelato patio and pickup window called The Gelato Mafia “TGM Terrazza) is open, but coming later this summer, you’ll be able to enjoy a 25-seat modern Italian cafeteria called Dolce Amore Bar and Caffetteria, and the crowning jewel of this location: Il Cappello Enoteca.
Il Cappello Enoteca will be the team’s first full-service restaurant, featuring a menu rooted in traditional Italian cooking. However, the founders want people to know this isn’t just another pizza and pasta joint.
Here, there will be an emphasis on Tuscan cuisine, as well as regional dishes from across Italy, including a variety of antipasti, risotto, piatti principali, and, of course, gelato desserts (but don’t worry, pizza and pasta will also be on the menu).
This 2,000 sq. ft. space will feature 100 seats in an intimate dining room, as well as an enclosed year-round patio.

Miku Richmond

The Pioneers of Aburi sushi in Canada, Aburi Restaurants Canada, have shared an update about a new location opening in Metro Vancouver. This time, the well-known group is launching Miku Richmond at the River Rock Casino Resort.
Miku first opened in Coal Harbour in 2008, and later, a Toronto Miku location was added to the mix. The new Richmond location is set to launch this summer, offering the same award-winning contemporary Japanese cuisine Miku fans know and love.
The Aburi Restaurant concept will join the brand-new Gordon Ramsay Steak at the River Rock, making the casino resort quite the destination for folks seeking top-notch grub in Richmond.

Läderach Richmond
Läderach confirmed to Dished that it is preparing to open a location in CF Richmond Centre. Its next closest location to Vancouver is in Toronto.
For those unfamiliar with the brand, Läderach was founded in 1962, initially operating as a supplier to select Swiss chocolate shops. Since then, it has expanded to open over 200 storefronts all across the globe. It’s best known for its selection of chocolates freshly made in Switzerland with premium ingredients.

Per Se Social Corner – Coal Harbour
Set to open later this year, the concept from the Social Corner Group of restaurants will be setting up shop at 1055 West Hastings St., the former location of Chewies Oyster Bar.

Rio Brazilian Steakhouse Langley

Rio Brazilian Steakhouse shared that it plans to open its third location in Langley. Currently, the brand operates locations in Vancouver at 1122 Denman St., and Coquitlam at 2729 Barnet Hwy.
“Endless fire-grilled meats, tableside carving, and that warm Brazilian hospitality are about to arrive in the heart of Langley,” said Rio.
An exact address and opening date have yet to be announced, but Rio did share that it expects to welcome guests this summer.
Autostrada Oyster Bar and Grill
Autostrada shared on Instagram that it will be opening a new concept this summer called Autostrada Oyster Bar and Grill.
“Located between West Vancouver and Squamish, the new Autostrada location is just off the Sea to Sky highway next to the old mine — an epic spot with incredible views of Howe Sound and the surrounding mountains,” shared Autostrada.
As for what people can expect from this new Autostrada concept, the restaurant said it will offer a seasonal menu that reflects its surroundings.
“Much like farm crops, oysters follow the seasons so guests can look forward to Pacific oysters harvested from various local growing regions off the B.C. coast,” said Autostrada.

Melting Pot
A major U.S.-based fondue chain is preparing to enter the city with not one but two locations. Currently, Melting Pot has two Vancouver locations planned: one each on the west and east sides of downtown. However, it is still early days and exact opening dates and locations have yet to be announced.
