Vancouver restaurant wins prestigious global award of excellence

It’s no secret that Vancouver is home to many award-winning restaurants — just check out the Michelin Guide, for instance.
Now, another Vancouver restaurant has won a prestigious award to add to its trophy case from the Distinguished Restaurants of North America (DiRōNA).
Five Sails, located at 999 Canada Place, has been awarded the DiRōNA Gold Award of Excellence for the second year in a row.
This award is given annually to restaurants that, according to their website, exemplify “exceptional dining experiences across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.”
“The Gold Award celebrates establishments that surpass the already rigorous standards of a DiRōNA-awarded restaurant, excelling in cuisine, curated wine and cocktail selections, service, and ambiance,” shared DiRōNA.
Five Sails, known for its beautiful views and quality food and drink program, is no stranger to the award scene. Most recently, it landed itself in the 2024 Traveler’s Choice Awards Best of the Best Restaurants Fine Dining category.
Five Sails also won the same award back in 2024 and is the only restaurant in Vancouver to make it on the list. It is also one of two Canadian restaurants to make the list, with the other being Don Alfonso 1890 in Toronto.
