We’ve gone and collected a list of all the new Vancouver restaurants you should look into trying this month.

There is always a lot of chowing down for us to do in our city, and these new eateries make our to-eat lists longer than ever.

Located at 1047 Denman Street, the former location of chocolate and dessert destination Cacao 70, Sushi Aboard is operating under a soft launch from August 17 to 23.

Motonobu Udon has quietly opened its doors in East Vancouver, making it the city’s newest spot to get slurp-worthy noodles. Located at 3501 E Hastings Street, the new eatery is on the street level of a residential building.

Move over, self-serve coffee. There’s a luxurious new place to get treats while car shopping: Tsujiri has opened a new location inside a Richmond car dealership. Yep, no lie here guys. The famous Japanese matcha cafe has teamed up with OpenRoad Toyota in Richmond.

Ramen Densetsu quietly opened its doors a couple of weeks ago. It’s now soft open Monday to Thursday from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Tutto Restaurant & Bar


Daily Hive

The eatery will open at 901 Homer Street, the former location of coffee spot Buzz Cafe, which closed in spring 2018. The team behind Tutto, which means everything in Italian, is preparing the 6,000-sq ft restaurant to open its doors in August.

Set to open mid-September, the relaxed pizzeria and cocktail spot is a new partnership between Autostrada Hospitality and the OPUS Vancouver. Capo and the Spritz will take over the space of La Pentola in the Yaletown hotel. Cocktail bar concept “the Spritz” will operate in the former place of OPUS Bar.

Victoria’s fast-casual Middle Eastern spot Superbaba is opening a brick and mortar location in Vancouver. The concept, which has operated a food truck in Vancouver since Spring 2018, will be taking over the former address of Kam’s Bakery at 2419 Main Street. This is one of those new Vancouver restaurants you should be keeping an eye on.

J Squared Ice Cream will be opening at 405 9100 Blundell Road in Richmond this summer. Owners told Daily Hive that the new spot “revolves around the love for tea.” This means patrons can expect flavours made with different kinds of locally sourced ingredients and teas.

The premium Chinese chain is opening at 6078 Silver Drive, the unit located right in between Cactus Club and Earls. This outpost will be the brand’s second in Metro Vancouver. It also operates a location at Lansdowne Centre in Richmond.

According to the Kits on Broadway BIAthe iconic global chain of eateries will be coming soon to a 5,759-sq-ft property at 3204 W Broadway, the former location of Swiss Chalet, which shuttered in 2017.

It was confirmed to Daily Hive that Jollibee’s first BC location is slated to take over 833 Granville Street, the former location of ShuRaku Sake Bar & Bistro, which closed in September 2018.
