Russell Long with Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate told Daily Hive that the Toronto-based casual dining restaurant chain had been at the location since November 1997.

With doors shuttered, the 5,759 ft² property at 3204 West Broadway is now up for lease.

Swiss Chalet, the White Spot equivalent within the Ontario market, has approximately 200 locations across the country.

It now only has three remaining locations in Metro Vancouver, including 879 Marine Drive in North Vancouver, 3860 Lougheed Highway in Burnaby, and 7488 King George Highway in Surrey.

On January 1, All Star Wings & Ribs – another Ontario-based chain – abruptly closed its flagship restaurant on Robson Street. Legal notices were posted on the main entrance to the restaurant, and the space remains vacant today.
