Taiwanese dessert spot "BlackBall" is opening a new Vancouver outpost

Famous Taiwanese dessert chain Blackball is gearing up to open a new location in Vancouver.

Blackball will be opening at 1 – 3377 Kingsway, in the former location of Crack Coffee Roasters.

This international chain has over 100 locations in Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and the US.

It currently operates two outposts in Toronto, one in Richmond, and has plans for a location in Victoria, BC, as well.

This spot is recognized for its extensive menu featuring treats like the signature BlackBall Grass Jelly (Xian Cao, known for being silky smooth and healthy) topped with things like boba, Taro Q and Yam Q (mochi-like balls), and red beans.

Other base offerings from BlackBall include Matcha and Aiyu Jelly and treats like waffles, crushed ice desserts, and Taiwanese tea beverages.

Every dessert from this spot can be served hot, warm, cooled, or iced.

While an official opening date has not been revealed, Blackball Kingsway is opening “soon” according to the company’s website.

We’ll keep you posted, but if you can’t wait for the new location, head to the Richmond branch at 1061 8300 Capstan Way.
