Kinton Ramen to open first Vancouver location this week
After an initial delay, Toronto-based noodle house Kinton Ramen has revealed the soft opening date of its first Vancouver location.
Slated to be the only full-service dining option on the UBC campus, Kinton will be opening on Wednesday, August 12 at 6111 University Boulevard. The establishment will begin with a 12-seat dining room which will expand once physical distancing guidelines are lifted.
The chain first opened in Toronto in 2012 and operates under the umbrella of the Canadian-owned Kinka Family restaurant group. The brand has over ten locations in Ontario and several in Montreal. This Vancouver location will be the concept’s first in Western Canada.

Patrons will be able to enjoy authentic Japanese ramen and a casual atmosphere. Five different styles of ramen will be served with the diner’s choice of either slow-cooked pork or chicken broth.
There are also a number of vegetarian options such as original, Shoyu, Miso, Spicy Garlic, and Spicy Jalapeno, as well as the choice for thick, thin, or shirataki noodles.
As for beverages, expect a bar program that includes beer on tap, house sake, and Sapporo-infused cocktails.
To celebrate the opening, Kinton Ramen has announced that it will be offering 20% off ramen from August 12 to 18, for both dine-in and takeout.
Be sure to make a point to check this place out once it opens.
