The new Main Street hang quietly opened over the weekend, offering customers a great selection of beer (20 taps ready to pour), several varieties of pho, and many kinds of pizza along with a handful of casual sharables like wings and more from Head Chef Jo Hognestad.

Matcha-lovers will now find this spot open Tuesday to Thursday from 2 to 10 pm, Friday from 2 to 10:30 pm, Saturday from noon to 10:30 pm, and Sunday from noon to 10 pm.

Longtail Kitchen

Rich Won/Daily Hive
The much-loved New West restaurant temporarily closed in October 2018 to merge with its nearby sister eatery in the River Market, Freebird Chicken Shack, which recently stopped operating in unit 112. Now, both concepts have reemerged with elements from their respective menus in Longtail’s renovated space in unit 116.

The Greek – Gastown

The 60-seat dining room is stunning and modern, welcomed contrast from traditional family recipes on the menu here. In August 2018 one of Vancouver’s favourite ice cream shops, Made by Mister, suffered damage after a major flood and had to temporarily shutter for repairs. The 1141 Mainland Street ice cream spot finally reopened on February 2.

After closing at their OG spot in Kitsilano, the eatery has announced they’ll be reopening at a new location and it will house two concepts. Patrons will soon find Moderne Burger’s epic shakes and eats at 865 West Broadway, but they’ll also find something new: Burgerette, a “slightly smaller” version of Moderne Burger. This spot will be opening in late February.

The first-ever Vancouver location of the chain is aiming to open at 566 Granville Street next year. That address previously belonged to Urban Mongolian Bistro (sister restaurant to the Urban Sushi Cafe next door at 562 Granville Street) which closed two months ago. Hot-Star will be opening a Richmond location early next year before the downtown Vancouver one.
