Beloved Vancouver burger joint reveals new concept and location
Moderne Burger, a 17-year tenant at 2507 West Broadway, told Daily Hive last year that they were going to be forced to leave their much-loved Kitsilano location due to building demolition.
While we were sad to see Moderne and other great eateries that shared the building close their doors (Kinome, Benny’s Cafe), the old school burger joint’s owners told us this wouldn’t be the end for the brand, and they weren’t lying.

Now, just over two months after closing at their OG spot, the eatery has announced they’ll be reopening at a new location in late summer, and it will house two concepts.
Patrons will soon find Moderne Burger’s epic shakes and eats at 865 West Broadway, but they’ll also find something new: Burgerette, a “slightly smaller” version of Moderne Burger.
The owners released an announcement on their Instagram that explained what their plans for the next stage of Moderne Burger/Burgerette would be:
After 17 years at one location it was difficult to imagine what was next for Moderne Burger.
We’ve decided to take some time to locate the right space so that we can recreate the original Moderne Burger. (Yes, we saved everything). Fortunately, we had been working on a project for a second location with a new and slightly different spin.
It will have the look and feel of Moderne Burger and offer your favourite award-winning burgers and fries and shakes only slightly smaller.
We will be joining the two in one larger space.
We can’t wait for our new opening and we’re excited to share more with you soon.
We’ll keep you posted on an exact opening date for this spot.
