New matcha cafe Tsujiri Richmond already has a massive line (PHOTOS)

It’s been a highly-anticipated foodie destination in Metro Vancouver for a long time, and now Tsujiri Richmond is finally open to the public.

The iconic Japanese matcha brand opened the doors to its first BC location at just 2 pm today, and the line stretched all the way around the building.

Patrons lined up to get a taste of Tsujiri’s signature matcha parfaits, souffle pancakes, floats, and cakes, all made using green tea leaves from Uji in Kyoto, something the brand has been doing since it was established in 1860.

Matcha-lovers will now find this spot open Tuesday to Thursday from 2 to 10 pm, Friday from 2 to 10:30 pm, Saturday from noon to 10:30 pm, and Sunday from noon to 10 pm.
