4 magical new afternoon teas to try in Vancouver

While it’s never a bad time to enjoy a spot of afternoon tea, when the colder weather starts creeping in, tea time seems more attractive than ever.

From themed teas to the glam gastronomic experiences, Vancouver is swimming in options when it comes to afternoon teas, and there are some new ones that have recently started/will kick off very soon.

Colette Grand Café has partnered with Jo Malone to create its first-afternoon tea service, which officially kicks off October 13. Colette replaced the Holts Café in luxury department store Holt Renfrew earlier this year. The cafe is known for its French-style fare in a chic and sophisticated atmosphere, and you can bet this tea will offer the same picture-perfect eats at the eatery’s regular menu.

When: Daily from 1 to 5 pm
Price: $35; $50 with champagne pairing

The West Georgia Street hotel, known for their amazing themed afternoon tea services has an Enchanted Forest Afternoon Tea as their fall theme. Prepare for an afternoon filled with mystery and folklore in the private dining room of Notch8 Restaurant and Bar.

When: Now through November 18; sittings Wednesdays to Sundays at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm

Patrons who head to the cafe and art gallery from 1:30 to 4 pm on Friday and Saturday can expect a $45 selection of small bites, sandwiches, pastries, and a choice of coffee, tea, or champagne for $35 more. Origo’s Afternoon Tea service features eats such as housemade scones with cream and jam, lemon tarts, macarons, and savoury selections like quiche Lorraine and choux aux champignons to name a few.

This inspiring School of Magic tea set is served daily from noon to 4 pm at the Trump Champagne Lounge + Crudo Bar until November 21. For this tea, a minimum two people must be attending and reservations are recommended. This spread features a “Philosopher’s Scone,” Golden Snitch Lollipop, Dragon Devilled Egg, and Butter Beer to name a few.
