The concept has popped up inside the Aburi Restaurants’ Gyoza Bar in downtown Vancouver at 622 West Pender Street. Marukatsu offers patrons a selection of fusion eats that combine Japanese katsu with Mexican ingredients.

Potluck Hawker Eatery

Victoria’s fast-casual Middle Eastern spot Superbaba is opening a brick and mortar location in Vancouver. The concept, which has operated a food truck in Vancouver since Spring 2018, will be taking over the former address of Kam’s Bakery at 2419 Main Street. This is one of those new Vancouver restaurants you should be keeping an eye on.

J Squared Ice Cream will be opening at 405 9100 Blundell Road in Richmond this summer. Owners told Daily Hive that the new spot “revolves around the love for tea.” This means patrons can expect flavours made with different kinds of locally sourced ingredients and teas.

The premium Chinese chain is opening at 6078 Silver Drive, the unit located right in between Cactus Club and Earls. This outpost will be the brand’s second in Metro Vancouver. It also operates a location at Lansdowne Centre in Richmond.

This global Korean rice hot dog spot is officially opening a location in Vancouver. The street food chain will be opening at 1795 Robson Street in the West End, which is the former location of a Pacific Poke outpost.

According to the Kits on Broadway BIA, the iconic global chain of eateries will be coming soon to a 5,759-sq-ft property at 3204 W Broadway, the former location of Swiss Chalet, which shuttered in 2017.

Do Chay will be opening in Yaletown at 1269 Hamilton Street. This is the current address of Do Chay’s sister eatery House Special, which will be closing at the end of June. Folks will have a couple more weeks to get in on House Special’s comfort eats before it transforms into Do Chay’s second outpost.

It was confirmed to Daily Hive that Jollibee’s first BC location is slated to take over 833 Granville Street, the former location of ShuRaku Sake Bar & Bistro, which closed in September 2018. Quite possibly the most highly anticipated “opening soon” eatery on this list of new Vancouver restaurants, we’ll be sure to keep you posted on this one.
