Do Chay Saigon Vegetarian is opening a new location in Yaletown
And the good food news just keeps on coming: Do Chay Saigon Vegetarian just revealed it’s opening a new Vancouver location.
The much loved plant-based Vietnamese eatery shot to popularity after opening at 1392 Kingsway in Spring 2019.
It quickly won over the hearts of locals and visitors who made a point to dine-in at the hidden gem and get a taste of its vegetable-forward street eats and noodle dishes.

Do Chay will be opening in Yaletown at 1269 Hamilton Street. This is the current address of Do Chay’s sister eatery House Special, which will be closing at the end of June.
Folks will have a couple more weeks to get in on House Special’s comfort eats before it transforms into Do Chay’s second outpost.
Set to open in early summer, Do Chay Yaletown will serve patrons its signature selection of inventive plant-based dishes like Coconut Rice Cakes, Vegan Avocado Pho, XO Potstickers, and Turmeric Banh Xeo Crepes, to name a few.

“Our family as a whole have been moving towards a more plant-based diet in recent years, and with COVID-19 happening, we wanted to focus on growing Do Chay and feel this is the right decision for us and for the neighbourhood,” says Patrick Do, who will oversee Do Chay Yaletown with his sister, Victoria Do, and mom, Yen Do.
“We often see many guests coming from downtown to our Kingsway location, and look forward to introducing Do Chay to even more people.”
“We’ve enjoyed many successful years as House Special, and thank Yaletown residents for their amazing patronage,” adds Victoria, who has managed House Special since its inception in 2016. “Our collective goal has always been to make Vietnamese food approachable. Do Chay is going to be a great addition for the area, and we can’t wait for the community to visit and try our dishes.”

Currently, you can order from Do Chay’s Kingsway location for pickup or head in for limited dine-in service (reservations are encouraged).
We’ll keep you posted on an exact opening date for the Yaletown spot — we can’t wait to take advantage of this location’s sunny patio once it opens this summer.
