We were lucky to land a reservation during the modern brasserieâs soft opening period. The 100-seat main dining room of the Cambie Village destination was packed nearly the entire time we were there, which was more than three hours.
The room felt relaxed yet upscale, classic with a modern edge, and it was clear that this was by design. From the ambient lighting to the music to the dapper staff uniforms of a grey blazer, crisp tie, and shiny new J pin, the team had curated one heck of an atmosphere.
As for food, head chef Connor Sperling designed a selection of sophisticated yet casual West Coast-French fare, described as embodying the perfect balance between tradition and modern cooking.

This new location is 16,412 sq. ft. and has a total of 311 seats. Most of these will be located in the dining room, which has 150 seats, followed by its large patio with 88 seats. There are also 27 bar seats and 46 seats in its showcase dining room.

Chupito

The former Gastown destination became an instant favourite with locals and visitors alike when it launched in 2021. We were hooked as soon as we laid eyes on the frozen margarita machine, and then after one bite of the fresh and spicy aguachile, we knew this spot would be one of our regular haunts.
Patrons no longer need to find the alleyway entrance in downtown Vancouver to get their Chupito fix; the new, temporary location can be found at 2450 Yukon St.
Located directly next to La Taqueria, the Chupito team has worked to transform its new space with its unique vibe and hours.

Reflections The Garden Terrace

Marco Ovies/Dished
After a year-long hiatus, Reflections The Garden Terrace has opened its doors to the public. Whatâs even more exciting is that itâll be open year-round.
On the cocktail side of things, drinks are meant to be an exploration of Vancouverâs diverse landscape and placed in one of three categories: Coast (elevated, fresh, and bright), Cascade Mountains (vibrant, layered, and expressive), and Metropolis (bold, alluring, and complex).
For food, you can expect a lineup of upscale share plates that match the sun-soaked vibes of the patio. Think butterflied tiger prawns, lamb kofta, and Dungeness crab tostadas as a few examples. And for those who arenât in the sharing mood, you can also opt for more substantial bites, such as the Reflections smash burger or paneer biryani.

A new cafe called Sio Vancouver has opened its doors, specializing in Japanese-inspired, buttery, salt bread.
For those unfamiliar, salt bread (a.k.a. shio pan in Japanese) is a soft buttery roll that is often sprinkled with sea salt.
However, the true unique factor of this baked good is salted butter placed inside the dough that melts to the bottom of the dough while baking to create an irresistible crunchy base. While it originated in Japan, it has since gone viral in South Korea, where itâs known as sogeum-ppang.
Siu is serving up both poke bowls and donburi, as well as a line of coffee and tea beverages. Highlights include the iced matcha cream latte, Sio coffee cream, and the Canadiano.

We and the Burnaby community were heartbroken when Hollie Fraser, owner of Punk Rock Pastries, shared the news that the much-loved bakery would be closing its doors. Now, just a few months later, Fraser announced Punk Rock Pastries would be reopening in the same space.
As part of the reopening, customers can expect some new Australian treats, including stuffed finger buns (sweet bread filled with custard, topped with icing and coconut), alongside other goodies such as lamingtons and Vegemite cheesy bread. Plus, its fan-favourite crazy brownies and stuffed cookies will also be making a return.
