Metro Vancouver’s most provocative bakery is shutting down

It’s a sad day for the Metro Vancouver bakery scene now that an iconic Burnaby bake shop has announced it will be closing its doors.
Punk Rock Pastries’s owner, Hollie Fraser, shared a video on Instagram with the news that the bakery will be closing up shop.
“As you’ve probably been seeing, there’s been a lot of places shutting down this year. Unfortunately, this will be Punk Rock Pastries’ last year,” Fraser said.

Punk Rock Pastries has been a fixture in the Burnaby Heights community since it opened its doors in 2019, serving the community its signature NSFW pastries and cake. But it’s not just the Burnaby community that’s been impressed with Fraser’s baking skills; she’s also a two-time Food Network champion who most recently won the 2023 Halloween Baking Championship.

“If you’ve ever wanted to try Punk Rock Pastries and you’ve been saying, ‘I’ve been driving past that place every single day, and I never stop,’ now’s your time to stop. Now’s your time to come in,” Fraser added.
Fraser said an exact closing date has yet to be decided, but it would most likely be in the summer. Dished reached out to Punk Rock Pastries for more details.
