Summer is winding down, and fall is just around the corner, which means just one thing: September has arrived in Vancouver.

Picklefest Vancouver

What: Picklefest — Canada’s biggest pickle festival — is taking over City Centre Artist Lodge at 2111 Main St for one day only in September.

Festivities include a bustling marketplace made up of dozens of vendors serving pickles by the jar, on a stick, and other pickle-inspired eats and beverages.

That’ll be paired with plenty of live entertainment, pickle-themed paraphernalia, and the star of the show, the festival’s annual home pickling contest, where an elite group of amateur picklers will walk away with prizes and infinite glory for their fermented food creations.

PNE Fair

What: The PNE Fair in Vancouver has returned for a huge 2026, and you’ll want to prepare your summer schedule accordingly.

A highlight of the fair every year is the huge summer night concerts. Music lovers won’t want to miss the exciting mix of legends and rising stars coming to the new amphitheatre.

New this year is Wizard of Oz On Ice, a chance to see Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion like never before. LEGO fans will also want to check out the new exhibition, Sean Kenney’s Animal Super Powers made with LEGO bricks.

Gastown Sunday Set

What: Water Street is turning into a stage, gallery, café patio, dance floor, and open-air playground every Sunday until Sept. 6

Each week features a fresh setlist of DJs, art drops, interactive installations, markets, games, and curated surprises. It’s street-level culture, served up weekly in the heart of Vancouver’s most iconic neighbourhood.

The series also features several rotating events, with programming including Streetside Sessions – Coffee Party. Gastown in Bloom – Flower Market, Open Air Atelier – Live Art Battles.

Bike the Night

What: Bike the Night Vancouver is rolling back into town this September with music, lights, prizes, and hundreds of riders cruising the Seawall after dark, and it’s free to join.

Designed for people of all ages and experience levels, the event turns the Seawall into a glowing, music-filled ride route, with a community festival to kick things off.

Music Mountain Series at Sea to Sky Gondola

What: The hills are alive with the sound of music at the Sea to Sky Gondola. The popular attraction is hosting a variety of acclaimed musicians throughout the summer.

Richmond Night Market

What: The Richmond Night Market is returning this month, and with it, it’ll be bringing the world’s first night market zipline, an all-new Trading Card Zone, and over 500 food items to try.

The theme for this year’s market is “Little Wonder World,” which the market describes as a “dazzling, globe-trotting adventure filled with iconic landmark decorations, vibrant displays, and a stunning themed wall designed for unforgettable moments.”

There will also be a giant soccer display.

Big Splash Water Park

What: Big Splash Water Slide Park in Tsawwassen is ready for the summer season. The seven-acre resort-style park features 13 body and tube slides, a kids’ zone, hot tubs, and more to help you beat the heat.

Big Splash’s highlight is the Boomerango, an exhilarating tube slide with a six-story drop. According to the park, it’s the only one of its kind in Western Canada.

Car Free Days Vancouver

What: Vancouver’s ever-popular Car Free Day is returning this month for two epic celebrations across the city.

Whistler Village Beer Festival 2026

What: The 13th Whistler Village Beer Festival (WVBF) returns to the heart of the resort from Sept. 9 to 14 for a massive celebration of everything craft beverages. Get ready for an Oktoberfest celebration, a craft beer brunch, bandaoke, and more.

The Main Event at Whistler Olympic Plaza on Saturday, Sept. 19, will showcase dozens of varieties of cider, beer, canned cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests can sample these options and other craft beverages from participating producers, discover new favourites and vote for the 2026 People’s Choice winner.

It’s the perfect excuse to gather your friends, head to Whistler and make a weekend out of one of the village’s biggest fall events.

Harrison Lake Inflatable Waterpark

What: Harrison Lake Inflatable Water Park has reopened for the new season, and be prepared to get wet during your visit.

Harrison Watersports’ giant attraction not only has an epic floating obstacle course/playground on the lake, but you can also rent bumper boats and Sea-Doos for the ultimate lake trip.

There’s a “Wipeout Style” obstacle course, with swings, teeter-totters, hamster balls, monkey bars, and the popular Blob.

Filipino Fest

What: The Museum of Surrey is hosting its annual Filipino Fest on Saturday, Sept. 12, with live performances, food vendors, children’s activities, and more.

According to the museum, it is an opportunity for guests to reconnect with their roots or learn about Filipino culture for the first time.

Vanier Park: Monthly Pay-What-You-Can Sundays at Vancouver’s Museums

What: H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, Vancouver Maritime Museum, and the Museum of Vancouver are partnering up for Pay-What-You-Can Sundays.

On the first Sunday of every month, guests of all ages are invited to visit the three Kitsilano waterfront attractions and explore the exhibits without financial barriers.

The three Vancouver attractions are within walking distance of each other in Vanier Park, and guests can discover maritime history, learn about local heritage, and explore science and space.

Stanley Park Mini Golf

What: The City of Vancouver has opened a temporary 18-hole mini golf experience in Stanley Park. The new attraction is expected to last until the fall.

Go on a golf adventure through a whimsical mini-golf wonderland created with an artful take on geometric patterns. All ages are welcome to come take a swing.

After Dark: Science of Sleight – Magic Edition

What: On Wednesday, Sept. 2, Science World is hosting one of its 19+ After Dark events, inviting visitors to learn “the science behind sleight of hand, misdirection, and illusion.”

A number of notable Vancouver magicians will headline the night, including Alex Zander, two-time World Champion Shawn Farquhar, and globally renowned magician Billy Hsueh.

Further, for anyone who’s wanted to show off with a magic trick, there will be the opportunity to learn how to do so.

Broadway Across Canada – & Juliet

What: Created by the Emmy-winning writer from Schitt’s Creek, this hilarious new musical flips the script on the greatest love story ever told.

This play asks: what would happen next if Juliet didn’t end it all over Romeo? Juliet’s new story bursts to life through a playlist of pop anthems as iconic as her name, including “Since U Been Gone‚” “Baby One More Time,” and “Can’t Stop the Feeling!”

The Magic of Sunflowers and The Magic of Fall

What: Taves Farms invites guests to the Magic of Sunflowers to explore the season’s stunning blooms and take pictures in the various photo spots until Sunday, Sept. 6.

Then head back from Saturday, Sept. 12, until Saturday, Oct. 31, for the Magic of Fall, with the new attraction Autumn’s Lane, a giant pumpkin patch, apple orchards, and over 30 acres of fall activities.

Chilliwack Corn Maze, a popular destination for families and adventurers, is now open for another season of fun.

Greendale Acres’ iconic maze is celebrating its 28th year in 2026, and the new design of the massive cornfield has longtime fans buzzing with excitement. In addition to the giant corn maze, there are tractor and hay rides, farm animals, children’s activities, and more.

Aritzia Warehouse Sale

What:  The Vancouver Aritzia warehouse sale typically offers customers 50 to 90 per cent off retail prices. This year, Aritzia says there will be “coveted styles — including jackets, coats, dresses, blouses, denim, pants, skirts, accessories and more.”

Aritzia also says that new styles will be arriving daily.

Deadly Dinner Party at The Improv Centre

What: The Improv Centre presents a classic whodunnit with a heaping dose of hilarity for the fall spooky season.

Vancouver Queer Film Festival

What: Vancouver Queer Film Festival is Western Canada’s largest queer arts event. Since 1988, the festival contextualizes and celebrates queer lives and experiences through online and in-person film screenings.

This year, 87 films from around the world will showcase the struggles, joys, and journeys of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. There will also be performances by local artists, post-screening Q&As, and industry events.

stɑl̓əw̓ Pow Wow

What: The fifth annual stɑl’əw̓ Pow Wow returns to Langley Events Centre from Sept. 11 to 13, inviting people of all ages and backgrounds to experience Indigenous culture through singing, dancing, drumming, food, art, and community.

The three-day celebration brings together Indigenous communities from across the region and beyond, with more than 500 dancers participating in Saturday’s Grand Entry.

Highlights include welcome ceremonies, Indigenous artists and food vendors, an all-women’s drum group competition, Coast Salish dancers and singers, hoop dancers, youth performers, and more.

What: Vancouver Fringe Festival returns to Granville Island and beyond from September 10 to 20, 2026, embracing every kind of everything. This year, there will be more than 80 shows, two days of free Kids Fringe events, and the return of the free Fringe Patio music series from September 5 to 20. Beck

What: Rock music fans in Vancouver are being treated to some great shows in 2026, and we can add Beck to the concert lineup.

The eight-time Grammy winner is bringing the Ride Lonesome tour to Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
