Broadway Across Canada – & Juliet

What: Created by the Emmy-winning writer from Schitt’s Creek, this hilarious new musical flips the script on the greatest love story ever told.

This play asks: what would happen next if Juliet didn’t end it all over Romeo? Juliet’s new story bursts to life through a playlist of pop anthems as iconic as her name, including “Since U Been Gone‚” “Baby One More Time,” and “Can’t Stop the Feeling!”

Vancouver Fringe Festival

What: The Vancouver Fringe Festival is returning to Granville Island and venues across the city from Sept. 10 to 20, bringing 11 days packed with theatre, comedy, dance, drag, music, and more.

This year’s festival is embracing what makes Fringe so unique by celebrating “every kind of every thing,” and guests can expect more than 80 productions from local and international artists.

From laugh-out-loud comedy to thought-provoking theatre, there’s plenty to discover.

Deadly Dinner Party at The Improv Centre

What: The Improv Centre presents a classic whodunnit with a heaping dose of hilarity for the fall spooky season.

Follow along the adventure as five VIPs are summoned to a mysterious dinner, only for murder to be served as the first course. Now a detective must discover the clues and solve the crime before it’s too late in a seasonal show where no two performances will be the same.

When: Every Friday and Saturday from Sept. 25 to Oct. 30, plus a special opening night performance on Thursday, Sept. 24.

stɑl̓əw̓ Pow Wow

What: The fifth annual stɑl’əw̓ Pow Wow returns to Langley Events Centre from Sept. 11 to 13, inviting people of all ages and backgrounds to experience Indigenous culture through singing, dancing, drumming, food, art, and community.

The three-day celebration brings together Indigenous communities from across the region and beyond, with more than 500 dancers participating in Saturday’s Grand Entry.

Highlights include welcome ceremonies, Indigenous artists and food vendors, an all-women’s drum group competition, Coast Salish dancers and singers, hoop dancers, youth performers, and more.

When: Friday, Sept.11 to Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026

Vancouver International Flamenco Festival

What: Celebrate all things flamenco at this annual festival of dance presented by Flamenco Rosario. There will be numerous live performances to enjoy by local, national, and international flamenco artists throughout the festival, including free outdoor events on Granville Island on Sept. 19 at 20 on the Fringe Patio stage.

Those interested in learning the art of flamenco can also sign up for classes throughout the festival.

One Man Home Alone

What: Duran Cruickshank performs a hilarious, solo reenactment of the hit film Home Alone, complete with 33 characters, 29 scenes, 11 pizzas, 10 booby traps and 2 burglars, in just 35 minutes.

Catch all the action and hijinks at the Vancouver Fringe at Little Mountain Gallery.

BC Culture Days

What: BC Culture Days is an annual series of free and interactive creative events hosted by artists and cultural organizations across the province. This year’s celebration invites participants to explore and express themselves artistically through workshops, live shows, theatre, and more.

Filipino Fest

What: The Museum of Surrey is hosting its annual Filipino Fest on Saturday, Sept. 12, with live performances, food vendors, children’s activities, and more.

According to the museum, it is an opportunity for guests to reconnect with their roots or learn about Filipino culture for the first time.

Vancouver Queer Film Festival

What: Vancouver Queer Film Festival is Western Canada’s largest queer arts event. Since 1988, the festival contextualizes and celebrates queer lives and experiences through online and in-person film screenings.

This year, 87 films from around the world will showcase the struggles, joys, and journeys of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. There will also be performances by local artists, post-screening Q&As, and industry events.

The Canine Library

What: Canine Library is woofing it up at John Hendry Park, and participants can choose from various poetry books from VPL’s collection for their session. There will also be fun with VPL’s Children’s tent and poetry workshops with VPL’s Writer in Residence, Selina Boan, during the popular annual event.

Sanction Me Daddy

What: Sanction Me, Daddy is an exploration of Niki Mohrdar’s experiences as a first-generation immigrant from Iran, and how her experiences have impacted her dating life.

The insightful stand-up show at Little Mountain Gallery is part of the Vancouver Fringe and will also examine how immigrant experiences can impact our romantic lives.

Fort Langley Ukulele Festival

What: The Langley Ukulele Association is hosting the Second Annual International Ukulele Festival, and several of Hawaii’s top musical talents will be performing, including Kalei Gameio, Chris Kamaka Sr., and Aldrine Guerrero

Acclaimed ukulele performers from the Pacific Northwest will also be in the festival lineup, like UkuLenny, Matt Dahlberg, and Peter Luongo.
