The sun is starting to come out, which means only one thing: it’s officially ice cream weather. Vancouverites are especially lucky, as the city is chock-full of great ice cream destinations.
However, with so many to choose from (and so few sunny days), it can be hard to decide where to visit.
That’s why we’ve compiled a list of some of the best ice cream in Vancouver, and a couple of others in the Lower Mainland that also deserve some love.

A bit of the Sunshine Coast has made its way to Vancouver now that Little Spoon Ice Cream has opened its first brick-and-mortar location in the city.
The new store officially opened its doors this year and is serving up its selection of ice cream in a variety of unique flavours. Think Brown Sugar Vanilla, Higgeldy Piggeldy (vanilla, brownie, caramel, and fudge), Earl Grey Lemon Curd, in addition to ice cream sandwiches and cakes.

After taking a break in 2025 to rejig the shop, the New Zealand-style soft serve shop Plain Jane has officially reopened its doors just in time for spring.
Plain Jane is best known for its use of organic French vanilla ice cream and real frozen fruit while using a New Zealand technique that the shop says, “Let’s both speak for ourselves.”

Fast-casual restaurant Popina offers the “world’s first soft serve cream puff” from its Granville Island location. This treat comes in a variety of different flavours and features drool-worthy toppings and sauces. Just make sure the seagulls don’t snag your treat… they are ruthless.
