There will soon be an additional direct, non-stop flight option between Vancouver and Austin, Texas.
WestJet announced today it will launch a new three-times-weekly service linking Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS).

The summer seasonal service will launch on May 11, 2025. Flights will depart YVR at 6 pm and land at 12:17 am the next day, while return trips will depart AUS at 8 am and land at 10:38 am.
“This service will provide a valuable connection between the Greater Vancouver Area and Southern US, offering guests a convenient and affordable way to explore Austin’s thriving music scene and renowned culinary culture, while also providing US-based guests access to one of Canada’s most iconic metropolises,” said Daniel Fajardo, vice president of Network and Schedule Planning for WestJet, in a statement.
Russ Atkinson, director of Air Service Development for the Vancouver Airport Authority, added, “Recognized as one of the best cities in the world for live music, this route to Austin builds on our existing linkages and is a welcome addition to WestJet’s expanded summer service, which includes additional new non-stop flights from YVR to Boston, MA and Tampa, FL.”
WestJet will effectively provide added capacity between YVR and AUS, providing Air Canada’s existing summer seasonal service with some competition. Air Canada first launched its YVR-AUS service in 2022.
