The restaurant industry in Vancouver can be fickle and – once again – the city’s dining scene has suffered some casualties. Alas, this is the way of the foodie world.

Victoria Restaurant has been reported closed by folks online, and the restaurant is marked as permanently shuttered as well.
Tsui Hang Village
Infamous old-school Chinese restaurant Tsui Hang Village, commonly known as Tsui Hang’s, has permanently shut its doors. The downtown restaurant was a fixture on the Granville Strip. Known for its cheap and cheerful Chinese grub, “cold tea,” and super late hours, this spot was one of a handful of joints still operating late enough to sit down and unwind after a night out.

Dockers Family Restaurant, located at 6094 Fraser Street (45th & Fraser), posted a notice on its door recently to let customers know that its last day of business would be December 8, 2019.
G8 Taiwan Kitchen

G8 Taiwan Kitchen, located at 8335 Oak Street, has officially closed its doors. The popular Richmond Night Market stall had been around since 2012, the brand opened its first brick-and-mortar location four years ago, and it closed on November 20, 2019.
Bistro Wagon Rouge

Known for serving up classic French cuisine, this “blue-collar” bistro’s menu centred around fresh seasonal ingredients alongside staples like Cassoulet, Terrine, and Steak Frites.
India Gate
Over the years the eatery has seen its share of highs and lows, from visits from Canadian politician Andrew Scheer to rat spottings in the late hours — India Gate has certainly made a name for itself over an impressive 41 years of operation.
Trattoria
Owner Umberto Menghi shared a message with patrons thanking them for their support, reiterating that while the sale was “bittersweet” for him, Trattoria is in “good hands.

Much-loved Vancouver eatery West Restaurant + Bar is closing after two decades of operation. The South Granville staple has been serving up elegant fare and amazing service for 20 years, and it will be shuttering at the end of December.

Luxury hotel Four Seasons Vancouver, which is connected to CF Pacific Centre, is set to close on January 31, 2020. The hotel houses YEW seafood + bar, which will also shutter in the new year.
