We know Canada is home to some of the best wineries around the world, but one BC brand just won a prestigious award that’s certainly worth noting.

Kelowna’s CedarCreek Estate Winery has been named the “Canadian Winery of the Year” for the third time at the 2019 InterVin International Wine Awards.

These awards celebrate the best wines in Canada. The competition is judged by respected wine writers, sommeliers, and notable figures in the industry.

CedarCreek was chosen as number one out of 1,100 wines entered from 15 countries, which is pretty impressive.

In addition to its big win, CedarCreek was awarded 15 medals for its portfolio of premium wines.

“As one of the original eight wineries in the Okanagan Valley, CedarCreek has championed quality winemaking practices and a vineyard-specific focus from the start,” noted Christopher Waters, Head Judge of the InterVin International Wine Awards. “If one were to look for a winery that’s emblematic of the dynamic changes afoot in the Okanagan Valley, CedarCreek’s renewed focus is a great case study.”

If you didn’t want to go already, now you have even more of a reason to head to Kelowna and see all the wineries and restaurants the area has to offer.
