Most exciting Vancouver spring restaurant openings to look forward to

Mar 20 2025, 7:24 pm

Spring has officially sprung, and with that, many new restaurants are starting to bloom in and around Vancouver. There are so many, in fact, that we decided to make a list to help keep track of all the exciting spots coming soon.

From a fast food chain’s first Vancouver location to a cafe that will transport you to the South of France, here are all the exciting spring restaurant openings for you to keep an eye on.

Angus T

A representative from Angus T told Dished that it would be opening two new locations in the South West Marine Drive and River District neighbourhoods.

“South West Marina Drive, which will be a central kitchen for Angus T, mainly focuses on product making and testing,” said Angus T. However, it did share that they plan to open a few hours every day to customers for large order pick-ups and a limited croissant and coffee service for the neighbourhood.

As for the River District, the cafe said it was excited to be opening in the heart of this “new and young neighbourhood.” You’ll find all your favourite Angus T products here, like those freshly baked croissants and coffees.

An exact address for both locations has yet to be announced.

We, along with many Vancouverites, were heartbroken when we heard the news that Small Victory Bakery would be closing its Yaletown location after a decade. However, at the time, Small Victory shared that it wasn’t a permanent goodbye and that it expects to be returning to the neighbourhood soon — sometime later this month, to be exact.

Small Victory told Dished it will be returning to Yaletown in a new space at 1089 Marinaside Cres.

“We are thrilled to return to Yaletown, and especially to such a stunning waterfront location,” said Afshan, co-owner of Small Victory Bakery. “Our mission remains steadfast: to celebrate simple pleasures through exceptional baked goods and coffee.”

In 2024, Taco Bell Canada told Dished it planned to open a Granville Street location, its first spot in Vancouver, but was not able to provide an opening date at the time.

But now that signs have gone up for the new Vancouver location, we anticipate that we’ll soon be digging into some Crunchwrap Supremes and Doritos Locos Tacos.

Farmers market season is fast approaching in Vancouver, but fans of Casa de Nata’s delicious Portuguese tarts won’t have to worry about which farmers market the shop will be heading to next since it will soon be opening its first brick-and-mortar location in the city.

For those unfamiliar, this bakery serves custard tarts made from scratch using co-owner Stephanie Benskin’s grandmother’s recipe, which has various options like chocolate, strawberry and raspberry, and even vegan varieties.

“We are excited to open the next chapter of year five with Casa de Nata at our new location,” shared the bakery online. You’ll be able to visit this new location sometime this April.

Address: 415 Abbott St., Vancouver

Sud Cafe, opening at 1082 Cardero St. in the former space of Cardero Grocery, aims to transport guests to the south of France in both its ambience and its food.

You’ll be able to find your typical cafe offerings like lattes and other hot and cold drinks, but there will be some drinks that offer a bit of a French and Mediterranean twist.

Peaked Pies

We’ve got some news that might peak your interest: Peaked Pies is expanding once again with a new Vancouver location.

“Get ready for authentic Aussie pies, great coffee, and that signature Peaked Pies vibe in Vancouver’s vibrant West Broadway neighbourhood,” announced Peaked Pies on Instagram.

The folks behind much-loved dining destinations Tableau Bar Bistro, Homer St. Cafe & Bar, and Maxine’s Cafe & Bar have something else up their sleeves. The Wentworth Hospitality Group has shared it will be launching a new dining destination, Folietta, early next year.

Folietta will focus on regional Italian fare and will be located in East Vancouver at 1480 Nanaimo St. (within Amacon’s latest development, The Grant).

A-OK Cafe

A-OK currently has locations in multiple Canadian cities, such as Toronto, Calgary, and Winnipeg, but this will be its first B.C. location.

Aritzia previously occupied a different space at Guildford Town Centre (without an A-OK Cafe) and will be moving into the former Forever 21 space.

The new Aritzia location and A-OK Cafe will open its doors this spring.

Din Tai Fung

Dished is told the new Vancouver restaurant, set to open at 1132 Alberni Street, will be launching in spring 2025.

Founded in 1972, Din Tai Fung now has more than 170 locations in 14 countries around the globe.

Mon Paris Olympic Village

Chef and owner Elena Krasnova opened the doors to her first Mon Paris Pâtisserie location in Burnaby in 2017 and is now expanding into Vancouver proper with her new location in the heart of Olympic Village.

Known best for its award-winning takes on classic cakes, chocolates, pastries, and confections, Mon Paris Olympic Village will feature the same tasty treats alongside new menu items, including Parisian baguette sandwiches and other lunch items.
