Vancouver bakery and cafe to reopen in Yaletown this month
We, along with many Vancouverites, were heartbroken when we heard the news that Small Victory Bakery would be closing its Yaletown location after a decade. However, at the time, Small Victory shared that it wasn’t a permanent goodbye and that it would be returning to the neighbourhood soon. Now, we finally have an update.
Small Victory told Dished it will be returning to Yaletown in a new space at 1089 Marinaside Crescent.
“We are thrilled to return to Yaletown, and especially to such a stunning waterfront location,” said Afshan, co-owner of Small Victory Bakery. “Our mission remains steadfast: to celebrate simple pleasures through exceptional baked goods and coffee.”
Located along the waterfront, Small Victory shared that the interior design of this new location is inspired by the “mesmerizing interplay of textures found in both the ocean and the culinary arts.”

“Designed by &Daughters, the space reflects the natural rhythm of ocean tides and the intricate craftsmanship of baking and coffee. From the granular softness of sand to the layered sediment of the ocean floor, each element mirrors the structure of a decadent dessert. These thoughtful design choices create a sensory experience that is both grounding and uplifting,” said the bakery.
As for the food and drink selection, customers can expect a wide range of handcrafted pastries (like its signature croissants), breads, desserts, and gourmet beverages.
Leading the culinary team are Executive Pastry Chef Ben Cormerias and Head of Bread Florian Dumartin, who Small Victory said bring their expertise and dedication to every creation.
“Guests can expect the same commitment to quality and craftsmanship that has made Small Victory a beloved name in Vancouver’s food scene.”

Small Victory Yaletown is expected to open sometime in February 2025.
