The Sandbar on Granville Island has been undergoing some renovations for a while now, and its highly-anticipated new oyster bar is officially open.  Located on the main level of the multi-storey waterfront restaurant, the oyster bar is now open Thursday to Saturday from 3 to 9 pm. The 20-seat bar is first come, first served, no reservations will be available at this new seafood destination.

That address previously belonged to Urban Mongolian Bistro (sister restaurant to the Urban Sushi Cafe next door at 562 Granville Street) which closed two months ago.
