Livia
Patrons can expect a delightful selection of bread-based breakfast and lunch items from Livia along with a drool-worthy pastry program that will come within the first few weeks of operation.

Ancora Ambleside
Now, this popular South American flare has landed at 1351 Bellevue Avenue in Ambleside, and it is set to officially open its doors next week. Ancora’s Executive Chef, Ricardo Valverde, will now be splitting his time at both locations with support by Chef de Cuisine Raimund Heuser.

Iktsuarpok Coffee Stand

Taking the place of Fetch Hotdogs, Iktsuarpok serves up a killer matcha latte and espresso-based drinks using Moving Coffee beans from its hole-in-the-wall location. There is no public seating here, but that hasn’t stopped the coffee community from checking out the buzz-worthy new place.

The new restaurant’s concept and dining room was prepared quickly after taking over the space of recently-shuttered and much-loved neighbourhood joint Campagnolo Roma at 2297 E Hastings Street. Dachi is open daily at 5 pm for dinner service, where patrons can expect a stunning interior space, a charming bar serving up wine, beer, and cocktails, and an inspired menu of seasonal eats.

Hundy operates in the same building as Their There in Kitsilano at 2042 West 4th Avenue, and will only open after the beloved cafe closes. The new joint will is a “thoughtful, minimalist approach to burgers and fries.” This new counter service spot opens from 5 pm till late on Thursdays, Friday, and Saturdays.

Autostrada Downtown

While the name on the door is fresh, Autostrada’s concept is likely familiar to fans of pasta and wine who reside here. Autostrada operates an original location on Main Street – which has been dishing up delicious eats since opening last year – and we expect the same greatness from the 350 West Pender Street outpost too.

Moderne Burger/Burgerette

After closing at their OG spot in Kitsilano, the eatery has announced they’ll be reopening at a new location and it will house two concepts. Patrons will soon find Moderne Burger’s epic shakes and eats at 865 West Broadway, but they’ll also find something new: Burgerette, a “slightly smaller” version of Moderne Burger. This spot will be opening in January.

The first-ever Vancouver location of the chain is aiming to open at 566 Granville Street next year. That address previously belonged to Urban Mongolian Bistro (sister restaurant to the Urban Sushi Cafe next door at 562 Granville Street) which closed two months ago. Hot-Star will be opening a Richmond location early next year before the downtown Vancouver one.

Le Petit Belge has revealed that they will be opening a second Vancouver location, and soon at that. The popular brunch destination will be opening in late October at 1007 Main Street and the team tells Daily Hive they intend to “keep true to the current concept of our Robson location.”

The dare we say, legendary, all-day breakfast spot currently operates three Calgary locations and one Edmonton outpost, and they are about to break into BC’s brekkie scene. The purveyor of chef-driven drool-worthy eats like New York-style cheesecake stuffed French toast, breakfast poutine, and their signature takeout breakfast boxes will be opening a location in Vancouver at 1137 Marinaside Avenue (the former location of the Hurricane Grill).
