Celebrity-loved donut shop is opening a new Vancouver location

When thinking of donuts in Vancouver, Lee’s Donuts tends to be one of the first that come to mind. It’s been slinging donuts since 1979 and is loved by many. Now, the chain is preparing to launch another location in the city in the Oakridge neighbourhood.
The new location will be opening in the mixed-use development Thesis by Alabaster Homes at 113 W. 49th Ave., Vancouver, and is situated across from Langara College and steps from Langara — 49th Avenue SkyTrain station.
“When we saw what Alabaster Homes was building at Thesis, we knew it was a perfect fit.
It’s a beautifully designed space in a neighbourhood that’s really coming into its own —
surrounded by exactly the kind of community that Lee’s has always been part of. We can’t
wait to start baking and become part of the daily routine here,” said Allan B., owner and CEO of Lee’s Donuts Inc.
Donuts at this location will be made fresh on-site every day, and the store will feature the full lineup of classic offerings, including Honey Dip, Raspberry Jelly, Chocolate Glaze, and rotating seasonal favourites.
An exact opening date for the new location has yet to be announced, but expect to visit before the end of the year.

Lee’s Donuts has been gearing up for some major brand expansion across Canada and beyond after hiring its new president, Cameron Jarvis, earlier this year. Jarvis joined Lee’s after multiple senior roles with Mary Brown’s Chicken and Taters, Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria, and Boston Pizza International.
“Lee’s Donuts has been a Vancouver favourite for generations, and we’ve taken our time to assemble the right leadership team for this next phase,” said Bacani at the time. “[Jarvis] is an exceptional operator, a team builder, and someone who understands what it means to scale a brand while preserving its heart. With his experience and passion, we’re ready to bring Lee’s to the world.”
Lee’s also added that this franchise demand is being driven almost entirely by incoming requests from fans wanting to bring Lee’s to their own neighbourhoods.
As for the current expansion plan, Lee’s previously shared that it’s in the process of rolling out a multi-year strategy focused on thoughtful growth and modernization. Additionally, its newly formed R&D team is developing “innovative product lines” for catering, fundraising, special events, and fresh-baked goods, alongside the launch of a refreshed Lee’s Coffee Program coming later this year.
Additionally, customers can expect a new mobile app featuring digital ordering, a rewards program, and exclusive offers.
This expansion also follows multiple shoutouts from Hollywood celebrities, most notably Vancouverites Seth Rogen, who has sung praises for the donut destination multiple times on Netflix shows, such as Dinner Time Live with David Chang and Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Even Canadian comedian Ivan Decker shouted out the donut shop and said it was “incredible.”
