If you’re itching for an adventure, a Canadian spot was just named a wonder of the world to visit for 2026.

We all know the seven wonders of the world, and U.S. travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller just released its roundup of the 2026 locations to be enchanted by, and only one spot in Canada nabbed a mention.

If you live in or have travelled to Alberta, you shouldn’t be too surprised to learn that Banff National Park made the cut to be a wonder of the world to visit in 2026.

Banff National Park is Canada’s oldest national park. It is known around the world for its skiing, alongside plenty of outdoor activities like horseback riding, rock climbing, and canoeing in the warmer months.

The publisher also touted the new Rocky Mountaineer train route that will be launching this year, connecting Banff with Jasper National Park.

Banff also has natural and architectural wonders, thanks to its vast number of hiking trails, glaciers, bright blue lakes (hello there, Peyto and Moraine Lake), and a historic mountain hotel that looks like a castle.

The Athabasca Glacier also received a mention, which was just recently named a must-visit for any adventure traveller.

Banff itself is no stranger to the spotlight. It has a pretty impressive track record, being named a top travel destination for 2026 by National Geographic, one of the most picturesque places in the world, and was also recognized as one of the most beautiful places in the world by Architectural Digest.

It’s also caught the eye of many celebrities over the years, with Justin and Hailey Bieber recently spending time at the iconic Lake Louise, country superstar Luke Combs praising it during his stay a couple of years back, and Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston calling the town and surrounding attractions “stupidly gorgeous” after his visit.

If you’re on the hunt for more iconic spots you should check out this year, we’ve got you covered with the seven wonders of Alberta you must see while on a trip.
