A new park is coming to the community of Wolf Willow, and it might be home to Calgary’s tallest slide at 30 feet tall, beating out Radio Park, which debuted its record-breaking slide in September 2025. Construction of the park was set to resume in the spring, and the park is looking to open this summer.
Vibe East Village

East Village
A major new residential project is beginning to take shape in the East Village this summer. The new building, called Vibe, broke ground near The Confluence recently and is set to transform an empty lot in the neighbourhood. The project is just one of several new buildings planned for the area.
Autograph Collection Hotel at Stampede Park

Truman
Construction is underway on the first hotel in Stampede Park, and it looks snazzy. The 13-storey upper-upscale lifestyle boutique hotel is set to feature approximately 320 rooms, 15,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom space, and 14,000 square feet of food and beverage offerings, including restaurants, a lobby bar, a coffee shop, and a rooftop lounge with views of downtown. It’s slated to open in 2028.

As work ramps up, several impacts were announced earlier this year, including partial closures along 5A Street SE and Flores Ladue Parade. Stephen Avenue is getting a facelift, and it has recently entered a new phase of construction. Crews are now working on surface-level work, such as installing new granite pavers, upgraded lighting, traffic signals, landscaping, and street furniture like benches, bike racks, and water fountains. Construction is set to take a brief hiatus during the summer so visitors can enjoy the avenue, and patios can open for the 2026 Calgary Stampede.
Memorial Drive extension

City of Calgary
Memorial Drive is getting an extension that will connect it to the community of Belvedere. The extension includes a new overpass over Stoney Trail and Rotary Mattamy Greenway, with improved connections on Memorial Drive, designed to help improve traffic flow and efficiency for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. Construction is set to start in the spring or summer of 2026.

The Belmont Fieldhouse and Library is currently under construction and is set to open in 2027. The fieldhouse will be approximately 118,000 sq. ft. and include an artificial turf field for a range of sports, viewing areas, dressing rooms, and washroom facilities, while the library will include public meeting rooms, open seating areas, and a children’s library.
