Construction has officially begun on a new hotel in Calgary, bringing overnight accommodations directly to Stampede Park.
On Friday, the Calgary Stampede and Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) announced that construction has officially started for the new hotel.
āJust seven short months after announcing Trumanās investment, we are thrilled to see construction begin on the Autograph Collection Hotel on Stampede Park,ā said Kate Thompson, the president and CEO of CMLC, in a release.Ā

The hotel was announced in June 2025, and early details revealed that it will be a 13-storey upper-upscale lifestyle boutique hotel with approximately 320 rooms; 15,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom space; 14,000 square feet of food and beverage offerings, including restaurants, a lobby bar, a coffee shop, and a rooftop lounge with views of downtown.
There will also be a south-facing leisure terrace with an activity pool, jacuzzi and an outdoor bar, and an indoor swimming pool and fitness club.

Slated to open in 2028, the hotel will also support the 2024 expansion of the BMO Centre. āThe Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel marks an important next step in building on the success of the expanded BMO Centre at Stampede Park, strengthening Calgary as a world-class destination for conventions, meetings, and events,ā said Joel Cowley, CEO of Calgary Stampede, in a release.Ā
The Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel isn’t the only hotel in the works for Stampede Park. Two more hotels were also announced last year, set to open in 2029 and 2030. According to the CMLC, they are now in the regulatory approval process and will provide more than 700 hotel rooms within a five-minute walk of the BMO centre.
