What: Country Club returns for its second annual celebration of great live music, delicious drinks, and southern-inspired good times on Saturday, Aug. 9.
Guests will discover a curated selection of tequila brands mixing creative cocktails at Country Club. Whether you’re a fan of spicy, sweet, or everything in between, you’ll find your new favourite pour during the event.

What: One of Metro Vancouver’s most popular outdoor music festivals returns this week, and it’s giving fans a huge reason to cheer.
Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival, happening at the Festival Lawn at Deer Lake Park on Saturday, Aug. 9, is once again offering free admission in 2025. Fans will also be treated to a stellar lineup of performers, including headliner Ani DiFranco.

Astro Arts Festival
What: More than 35 experimental murals, graffiti works, and street art pieces being created during the 2025 Astro Arts Festival. There will also be six giant new mural installations created in the immersive, open-air gallery.
The free three-day block party will also showcase live DJ sets, open studios, artist talks, a beer garden, and the 100 Amigos Exhibition curated by Pablo Zamudio, Drew Young, and Douglas Coupland.

What: Calling all boba lovers! The Canada Bubble Tea Festival is returning to Metro Vancouver this weekend, and there’s a lot to look forward to.
This shindig — which coins itself as the largest of its kind in Canada — is happening from Aug. 9 to 10 at Burnaby’s Swangard Stadium.

Ugly Potato Day

What: Ugly Potato Day by Odd Bunch takes place on Aug. 9, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., at the Cloverdale Rodeo and Exhibition Grounds, and we have all the essential details.
If you’ve never heard of the event, it’s essentially the celebration of ugly produce. A lot of the produce you’ll find may not look like the most aesthetically perfect vegetable or fruit.
Last year, approximately a dozen farms participated in Ugly Potato Day. This year, there are over 20 expected, including the additions of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and Otter Co-op.
“Admission is free and guests are invited to bring their own bags to fill with farm-fresh produce. Guests are also invited to listen to a DJ, snack at the food trucks and to enjoy family-friendly activities,” a media release says.

Vancouver Water Fight

The 14th annual Vancouver Water Fight kicks off at 1 p.m. near Lumberman’s Arch, where hundreds of people are expected to gather for one of the city’s quirkiest and most joyful summer traditions.
