A sober mermaid-themed morning rave party is coming to Vancouver

If late-night boozy parties aren’t for you, there’s a sober morning rave party coming to Vancouver that might be just what you’re looking for.
The official name of the mermaid-themed party is Coffee & Cacao Morning Rave 3.0: Acquatic Edition, but you don’t have to go under the sea to attend.
This aquatic party begins at 9 a.m. and it’s a sober morning rave, featuring coffee and treats to help you get your day started. If you don’t want to be a mermaid, you don’t have to be.
“Think blue, sparkly, mermaid vibes, sailors, anything else you can think of, ocean themed lmao,” the event description states, so it sounds like you can pull that old pirate costume out of storage.

The party takes place at FriendsQuarters in Gastown on Aug. 9 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., and tickets are pretty cheap. The event is particularly friendly to vegetarians and vegans, as all the food and drink offerings will be plant-based.
Some of what’s on offer includes a coffee bar with local brews, including soy and oat milk. The event organizers encourage attendees to bring their own mugs, and a prize will be awarded for the best mug.
There’s also going to be a cacao station from Purica.
Some of the snacks include bagels with plant-based cream cheese, popcorn, gummies, and other treats.
You can’t have a rave without a DJ, and Siren of the Elements will be there bumping some house music. Attendees will also have access to an outdoor patio and chill lounge, hair and makeup by Goddess Artistry and Rave Babe Beauty (included in the ticket price), and face painting by Painted Dreams Artistry.
A vendor market will be available featuring local brands, and the event is described as family-friendly for all ages.
