Huge Lower Mainland waterpark finally opens for summer with some changes

Jun 27 2025, 2:00 pm

Bridal Falls Waterpark is finally reopening for the summer on June 27, meaning visitors will be able to enjoy several water attractions.

However, the waterpark notes that this year, the opening will be limited, after a turbulent past summer season marked by a safety incident.

The partial reopening comes nearly a year after a fibreglass failure on one of the park’s tube slides caused several injuries, including a serious leg injury to an 11-year-old.

According to Technical Safety BC, long-term degradation of the slide’s structure led to a sudden crack and deformation that went undetected during the park’s daily inspection.

While the park’s iconic body slides remain closed indefinitely, water park officials say several family-friendly zones will open this week.

ā€œWe are sorry that we can’t welcome you with a full opening with all our slides,ā€ reads a statement from the park on the website.

ā€œWe are challenged with some government rules that we are working to resolve.ā€
