Our favourite season is finally here, and with it comes some highly anticipated Vancouver summer restaurant openings for 2020.

If the return of our much-loved patio season hasn’t gotten you jazzed up for the warmer months, we do have several exciting openings to look forward to, and they are slated to be comin’ up quick.

The countdown to epic eats is officially on for these buzz-worthy Vancouver summer restaurant openings.

Potluck Hawker Eatery

This 35-seat restaurant will feature a rotating “potluck-style” family menu with sharable dishes such as fried fish, Dungeness crab, and fried chicken, paired with a number of different snacks and sides.

This global Korean rice hot dog spot is officially opening a location in Vancouver. The street food chain will be opening at 1795 Robson Street in the West End, which is the former location of a Pacific Poke outpost.

Pizzeria Grano took over much-loved local joint Don’t Argue after it closed this past August, and it’s gearing up to open this month at 3240 Main Street. This project comes to us from the folks behind one of Vancouver’s best pizza spots, Via Tevere, and is set to focus on plant-based Neapolitan pizza.

Do Chay Saigon Vegetarian — Yaletown

Do Chay will be opening in Yaletown at 1269 Hamilton Street. This is the current address of Do Chay’s sister eatery House Special, which will be closing at the end of June. Folks will have a couple more weeks to get in on House Special’s comfort eats before it transforms into Do Chay’s second outpost.

Finally, it’s almost time for the city’s highly anticipated spot for authentic Vietnamese eats, Lunch Lady, to open its doors. Lunch Lady will be opening at 1046 Commercial Drive in the former location of popular spot Five Elements Cafe, which closed last year.

The hot pot restaurant hailing from China quietly opened its first Canadian location back in December 2018 in Richmond at 5890 No. 3 Road. This new outpost will be its second in BC.
