This morning on an episode of Live with Ryan and Kelly, Kelly Ripa gave one of Vancouver’s favourite sushi spots a major shoutout.

Miku, located in Coal Harbour at 200 Granville Street # 70, was brought up by the star when her co-host, Ryan Seacrest, asked what she was thinking about when her stomach was growling during the June 17 episode of the talk show.

After some back and forth about the food they’ve been enjoying lately, Ripa explained she’s been cooking at home because she didn’t “want to eat the takeout sushi” and then brought up the much-loved Vancouver Aburi Restaurants concept shortly after.

“To me, I like to go to Miku in Vancouver. That’s where I like to have my sushi.”

The longtime radio and television personality continued to explain why Miku topped her list for dine-in sushi experiences.

“They know me there, they know what I like, and so I’ve become very finicky in my old age over my sushi,” said Ripa. “I like to watch them pull it right out of the ocean.”

You can watch her talk up this local favourite for yourself at around the 12:10 mark.

This isn’t the first time Ripa has shown Vancouver some love, It’s no secret that she is a big fan of Vancouver, even going so far as calling the YVR airport “gorgeous.”
