Vancouver travellers heading to the bright lights of Los Angeles will have a new option to get there starting this fall, thanks to the launch of a direct flight by one of the biggest airlines in the world.
Delta Air Lines confirmed to Daily Hive that it will begin twice-daily non-stop Airbus A319 service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Vancouver International Airport (YVR) starting on Nov. 21.
According to Chelsea Wollerson, a communications representative for Delta, the move will help give its passengers access to all that Vancouver has to offer.

“The addition strengthens Delta’s growing international network from LAX while giving Southern California customers convenient access to one of North America’s most popular year-round destinations, whether for outdoor adventure, cruise departures, world-class dining or winter travel throughout British Columbia,” said Wollerson.
“The route also expands options for Vancouver travellers, connecting them to Los Angeles’ renowned business, entertainment and cultural offerings, as well as Delta’s broader network.”
YVR added that the Vancouver flight route to L.A. was last operated by Delta in 2018.

Delta Air Lines
“This will be its only direct route from Los Angeles to a Canadian airport,” said Alicia Doyle, senior communications specialist for Vancouver Airport Authority.
“This added service supports continued demand for travel between British Columbia and Southern California.”
Passengers on the Airbus A319 will have access to free Delta Sync Wi-Fi and seatback entertainment through Delta Studio.

Earlier this spring, Air Canada announced Mazatlán, Mexico, as a new destination from YVR starting this fall.
The new seasonal flight will run daily from Dec. 15, 2026, through April 9, 2027. It is joining a trio of new non-stop flights in the airline’s significant expansion to sun markets from the country’s west coast.
Canada’s largest airline will also start a new direct, non-stop service between YVR and Chitose Hokkaido Airport (CTS) in Sapporo, located on the island of Hokkaido, on a seasonal basis this winter.
Edmonton-based Flair Airlines also announced a new non-stop service from YVR to Guanajuato International Airport (BJX) in Mexico.
Flair’s first-in-Canada service to Mexico’s Bajío region launches on Oct. 3. The airline revealed that fares for the weekly flights will start at $189.
