8 new and notable Vancouver restaurants to have on your radar

We can’t help but get excited when a new restaurant opens its doors in and around Vancouver. But with so many new spots opening their doors, it can be hard to keep track of what’s officially open and what we’re still waiting on.
That’s why we compiled a list of some of the most exciting new restaurants that you can visit now in Vancouver.
From the first oyaki shop outside of Japan to a sweet new bakery from a fan-favourite cafe, here’s your list of new restaurants you can visit today.
Dope Bakehouse

Nemesis’s in-house baked good program, Dope Bakehouse, just got its very own standalone location in North Vancouver this summer.
A first for Dope Bakehouse, known best for its picture-perfect treats and signature cobalt blue boxes, the concept is located at 650 Mountain Hwy. in a 3,000 sq. ft. space. It features a kitchen facility, 15 seats, and a 24-foot ceiling.
As for food, think drool-worthy bites made on-site, such as a Mango Coconut Rice Pudding Danish, a Hochija Strawberry Danish, and a Bacon Smoked Cheese and Fermented Honey Croissant, to name a few.

Cofu Chinatown

Marco Ovies/Dished
Cofu Chinatown opened the doors to its second location in the city after five years of success at its original location near Granville Island. But don’t think of this as just a simple extension of its previous plant-based pressed sushi concept. Instead, it’s offering a one-of-a-kind experience: the first vegan omakase in Canada.
“Vegan food is most accessible food,” owner Akiko Gulkison told Dished when we stopped by for a visit. “Meat and fish are tasty, but certain people can’t eat them, so this is an opportunity for everyone to enjoy [omakase].”

We are SO excited to welcome @batchkitsilano to Ambleside,” shared the BIA.
Batch Kitsilano first opened in June 2024, in partnership with the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, to much fanfare. You may also recognize the name Batch from its other location at the Plaza of Nations. Since then, both have become a go-to destination to enjoy local eats, drinks, and live music.

Fiorino Lonsdale Quay

Fiorino has long been a classic spot for folks in the Vancouver area wanting to grab some solid Italian food and drinks, and its second spot (complete with a waterfront patio) is no exception.
Located on the second floor of the Lonsdale Quay Market, Fiorino has taken over the previous location of Cheshire Cheese Restaurant, which closed in 2022 after operating for 36 years, as well as expanding into the adjacent dance studio space. The result? A gorgeous sun-filled spot that will make you feel like you’re transported to Italy. Expect delicious pasta, sandwiches, and plenty of Negronis.

The new spot specializes in oyaki, a cozy dumpling from the mountains of Nagano (which is also the hometown of Sai Plant Deli’s owners). It also claims to be the only oyaki store outside of Japan.
The restaurant serves oyaki with fillings such as spicy potato and pepper, classic eggplant miso, cheesy “keema,” stir-fried garlic greens, and sweet pumpkin and butter bliss.

Crema first got its start as a food truck and is best known for its unique flavours inspired by co-owners Heidi and Joe’s Peruvian and Taiwanese roots. Think horchata, miso pecan, Thai iced tea, and lucuma brownie, to name a few.
