From permanently closed to closed for renovations: Here's what's happening with Milestones Coquitlam location
Over the last few years, the future of Milestones Coquitlam location was looking questionable.
First, rumours circulated that the location would be closing permanently. At the time, a representative from Milestones told Dished that the chain was in discussion with the landlord to extend the lease.
One month later and a staff member at the location confirmed that the restaurant would be closing its doors, with its final day being March 3.
Another month went by, and a representative from Milestones told Dished that the location would not be permanently closing after all, but rather closing for renovations. This was at the same time as another notable Vancouver closure, Swiss Chalet, which switched between closing and not closing as well.
Fast forward to today, and the location has just reopened its doors with some exciting new additions for guests to enjoy.
“Hey Coquitlam! We know it’s been a while… but at last… we’re back and better than ever!” shared the restaurant on Instagram.

This location will act as the brand’s first test kitchen, where guests can try exclusive dishes the team is experimenting with. This includes special bites like a selection of new pizzas, oysters, soufflĂ© pancakes, and more.
But don’t worry, you’ll still be able to find plenty of Milestones classics on the menu.
That’s not the only new thing you’ll be able to find at this location, because a new speakeasy-style bar has opened on the second floor.
“We’re also excited to introduce you to Fraser Bar — crafted by Milestones, our brand-new speakeasy-style bar upstairs,” said the restaurant. “Inspired by the prohibition era, it features a curated list of specialty cocktails and a completely separate bar menu that we designed with sharing and socializing in mind. We’re proud of what we’ve created here — and even more excited to share it with you.”
Examples of these new bar bites include purple yam dumplings, beet and goat cheese ravioli, and prawn cold rolls, to name a few.

Milestones Test Kitchen is currently open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight, Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to midnight.
