What: West Vancouver’s long-standing Community Day is being transformed into Bridge Festival —  a two-day multicultural event taking place on May 31 and June 1 at Ambleside Park. This new festival will include interactive cultural pavilions, live musical performances, a parade, delicious food from around the world, and much more.

There will be two full evenings of free concerts at the main stage in Ambleside Park, a number of food trucks, and showcases of culture by West Vancouver residents who will share the customs and traditions of their diverse ethnic identities.

Bob Saget

What: Bob Saget is renowned for his family-friendly work on hit TV shows Full House and America’s Funniest Home Videos, but it’s his unconventional stand-up comedy that he’s bringing to the River Rock Show Theatre. The Grammy-nominated comedian has been entertaining audiences for thirty years with his provocative stand-up comedy, including his HBO special That Ain’t Right to scene-stealing cameos in Entourage and The Aristocrats.

The 2019 Royal Canadian Family Circus

What: The internationally-renowned event is kicking off its 2019 Canadian tour with shows across the Lower Mainland.  Expect explosive circus acts like the Flying Cortes Trapeze, the Wheel of Destiny, chair balancing, and aerialists, to name a few.

What: Canadian comedy icon Colin Mochrie, Vancouver TheatreSports alumnus, and star of Whose Line is it Anyway, returns this Spring for three laugh-packed performances to benefit VTS and the Colin Mochrie Scholarship Fund. Dunkirk Special Screening at Science World

HypeCity 5

What: The Vancouver Sneakerheads Group (VSG) and Vancouver Streetwear Community (VSC) present HypeCity 5, one of Canada’s largest sneaker and streetwear conventions with more than 70 vendors, stemming from Metro Vancouver, Alberta, Seattle and Portland, and Eastern Canada. Visitors can expect a wide range of sneakers and streetwear apparel and some of the most coveted brands in the game, including Jordan, Nike, Yeezy, Supreme, and Off-White, to name a few. Some of Vancouver’s largest sneaker and streetwear retailers will be at the event as well, including names like Bred, Heatvault, #NFS, Stay Fresh, Dipt, and Hotbox. The day will also feature Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournaments throughout the day.

Public Disco Laneway Series 2019

What: Vancouver’s Public Disco pop-up events will make its return this summer, transforming outdoor spaces into daytime dance parties. The 2019 Laneway Series is an all-ages summer concert series in partnership with Creative BC, Downtown Vancouver, FACTOR, and Granville Island Brewing. The Disco will be most similar to past events held by the group, showcasing feel-good music from up-and-coming artists and curated dance performances. The Laneway Cabaret will feature live music acts ranging from folk to hip hop, with DJs throughout the day.

Soi Dog Canada Mutt March: “Fixin to Save Lives” 

What: The purpose of this fun family 2k or 5k walk is to raise awareness and support for spaying/neutering hundreds of thousands of street dogs and cats, and to raise funds for several spay/neuter programs across Canada and for Soi Dog Foundation in Thailand. There will be fun for the whole family, with lots for the kids to do including games at the “Kids Corner”.
