There are MASSIVE delays on transit across Metro Vancouver right now

The snow that caused problems for morning commuters is now triggering major headaches for those who braved the elements and are trying to get home – particularly those who travel by bus.

On Twitter, TransLink has advised travellers of a number of delays on routes right across the network, including delays of up to 75 minutes on the 99 B-Line between UBC and Commercial-Broadway.

However, that is just one of the problems plaguing the system this afternoon.

On other routes, delays of half-an-hour to 45 minutes are a common refrain.

This morning, TransLink warned of “significantly slower service on the transit system” today.

In a statement, TransLink spokesperson Ben Murphy said to expect “significantly slower service on the transit system today.”

“Customers are asked to consider whether they need to travel today,” writes Murphy in an email. “And, if there is a need, whether they could consider travelling outside of rush hours, as commutes will take significantly longer than usual.”

It remains to be seen if anyone will have to push a bus up a hill again, though.
