Your bags are packed, your accommodation is booked, and your sparkly outfit is planned for Taylor Swift’s performance at Vancouver’s BC Place next month.

Now that you’re coming to Vancouver for the show, how will you spend the hours before and after her concert?

Luckily, Vancouver has a wealth of things to see and do, even in early December. Just pack your rain jacket and make the most of your trip.

Often considered the crown jewel of Vancouver, this seaside path circles the city’s largest park and offers views of the ocean, mountains, and city skyline. If you’re lucky, you could even see seals or an orca. Rent bikes near Denman and Georgia streets, or make an afternoon of it with a leisurely stroll.

Visit a suspension bridge

Test your nerves by traversing one of North Vancouver’s mountainous canyons on a suspension bridge. There’s a free suspension bridge inside Lynn Canyon Park, which also contains forested walking trails and emerald-coloured waterfalls. Capilano Suspension Bridge Park requires a ticket to enter but includes a bigger suspension bridge, a treetop walk, and a glass-bottomed walkway on the edge of a cliff.

Hop on a boat with False Creek Ferries or Aquabus to get an affordable view of downtown Vancouver. Hop off at Granville Island to see the iconic Public Market — just watch the seagulls don’t steal your food.

The city is buzzing for Taylor Swift’s visit, with plenty of Swiftie-themed afterparties along the Granville Strip — Vancouver’s well-known clubbing district. There are also several electronic artists in town that weekend for those craving a genre change. Drum and bass newcomer K Motionz is playing at Village Studios on December 6, and bass artist Of the Trees is playing at the Hollywood Theatre on December 7.
