Richmond restaurant known for Korean comfort food joins growing list of closures in the city

It was a sad day when we reported that Missing Chopsticks, Richmond’s French restaurant with an Asian twist, announced it would be closing its doors on May 4. Now, we unfortunately have another casualty to report on in the Richmond dining scene.
Mama’s Diner announced on Instagram that its final day of operation was April 27.
“This journey has been nothing short of incredible, and weâre so grateful for every one of you who walked through our doors, supported us, and became part of our story. Your love and encouragement have meant the world,” said the restaurant.

Mama’s Diner was best known for its cozy Korean comfort food, such as savoury pancakes and hot pot.
“Though weâre closing this chapter, weâll carry the memories, laughter, and community with us always,” added the restaurant.
