We’re right in the middle of award season, and not only did two Vancouver bars make the list of best bars in North America last night, but a Vancouver steakhouse was just named one of the best in the world.

Steak fanatics in Vancouver are very familiar with Elisa, Yaletown’s swanky steakhouse from the Toptable Group. But it’s not just the locals who are raving about this restaurant. Elisa has managed to land itself on the list of the World’s Best Steak Restaurants, being ranked at number 26.

Last year, Elisa also made the list and was praised for its “refreshing take on the traditional steakhouse” and its “impressively comprehensive” wine list and exceptional service.

Additionally, last year the steakhouse was given the title of Best Steak Restaurant in Canada. However, we’ll have to wait until May 1 for the full list to see if it will keep its title.

The restaurant has long been a favourite for Vancouverites and folks visiting town, including A-listers such as John Cena and Keegan-Michael Key.

For this list, ranking criteria are based on a handful of experienced Steak Ambassadors evaluating restaurants anonymously on each continent.

Ambassadors are dispatched by Upper Cut Media House, based in London, U.K., which manages and publishes this list annually. Upper Cut describes itself as a “boutique media company with broad international hospitality, gastronomy and event expertise for more than three decades.”
