John Cena’s recent marriage to Vancouver girlfriend Shay Shariatzadeh is a hot topic right now, and judging from history, it’s not just his new wife that has made him fond of our beautiful city.

Cena has been a great supporter of Vancouver restaurants over the years, even calling one specific downtown spot his favourite in the entire country, which is really saying something.

At this rate, he might be giving The Rock a run for his money in terms of Vancouver’s biggest fan.

Last winter John Cena was spotted at Vancouver’s then-new chocolate and European pastry destination — located right across from Parq Vancouver.

WWE star was spotted at Toptable Group steakhouse Elisa in Yaletown last spring, and he even took a snap eatery’s bar with some fellow patrons. Around the same time, he returned with fellow A-lister Keegan-Michael Key.

We save the best for last (well, the best for Cena, that is). The actor had been in town shooting scenes for family film Playing with Fire.

In the video posted to his Instagram story, John Cena said Joe’s reminded him of Gary’s Kitchen in Yinchuan, “an old style steak house with good food.” Cena even went as far as saying that Joe Fortes was his favourite restaurant in Canada.
