Vancouver restaurant to close due to rising rent, wages, and food costs
After four years of operation, Frying Pan on Denman announced that it will be closing its doors this weekend.
“On Sept. 22, 2022, we opened the doors of Frying Pan on Denman with big dreams, a lot of hope, and no idea how many wonderful people we were about to meet,” wrote the restaurant on Instagram.
Frying Pan first started as a food truck before opening a brick-and-mortar location in Vancouver. Then, in 2022, it moved to its current home in the West End.
The restaurant is best known for its Korean fried chicken creations, from sandwiches to tenders and wings. It also made Big 7 Travel’s list of the 50 best burgers in the world in 2022.
“We gave this little place everything we had ā our time, energy, and hearts. But with rent, wages, and food costs continuing to rise, it became harder and harder to keep going with our current menu and prices. We tried our very best, but sometimes, even giving everything you have isn’t enough,” added Frying Pan.

However, this isn’t the end for the team, as the folks recently opened both Little Seoul and Tori at the Bentall Centre Food Court. Plus, you’ll still be able to catch the Frying Pan food truck around town.
“Weāre excited to begin our next chapter. Same hearts. Same passion. Just a new beginning,” wrote Frying Pan.

Many took to the comments to share how much they would miss the restaurant.
“So many great memories there!!! I can’t wait to check out your new spots! Y’all always be my favourite in my heart!!” wrote one person.
“The end of an era, but what an amazing run it was! š„¹ā¤ļø,” added another.
“Going to miss you on Denman but glad to know we have a new location to explore! Unreal food and vibes ā thank you for an awesome four years, here’s to your new chapter… We’ll be right alongside!” shared a third.
Frying Pan’s final day of operation is Sunday, Nov. 8.
“Thank you for being part of our story. We couldn’t have written it without you,” concluded the restaurant.
