Longstanding Vancouver Thai restaurant closes after 15 years

This year has been rough for the Vancouver restaurant industry, and that includes both new concepts alongside longstanding eateries. Joining the growing list of closures is Bob Likes Thai Food, which quietly closed after 15 years of service.
“We regret to announce the closing of ‘BOB LIKES THAI FOOD,'” shared the restaurant on a notice posted to its doors. The windows have since been covered up.
“We have been in business for over 15 years and would like to thank our staff, loyal customers, friends and family for their support over the years,” added the restaurant. Its final day was July 1, 2025.

Bob Likes Thai Food was best known for its fresh offerings like mango sticky rice and pad Thai.
The closure of this Main Street location marks the end of Bob Likes Thai Food’s time in Vancouver. It had also operated a location at 1521 West Broadway in addition to a Thai tapas spot in Gastown.
Other recent longstanding restaurants that have announced closures in Vancouver include Wally’s Burgers Vancouver location, Take Five Cafe’s Granville location, and Solly’s Bagelry in Kitsilano.
