Calgary’s ice cream scene is officially heating up, as one of the city’s most popular spots for scoops is opening a new location.

Village Ice Cream has revealed it is gearing up to open its sixth location in the city, this time heading to the southwest.

The latest outpost will be opening in the West District, steps away from Radio Park, where it will be joining spots such as Deville Coffee and Una Pizza + Wine.

“We’re thrilled to announce our 6th Calgary scoop shop, opening in early 2026 in the heart of West District, a vibrant Southwest community where inner-city energy meets neighbourhood charm,” Village said in an Instagram post.

Village is a fan favourite for Calgarians. It’s known for its small-batch ice cream, featuring iconic flavours such as toasted coconut, salted caramel, and Guide’s mint.

Construction is underway, with the new scoop shop slated to open early next year.

Currently, it has locations in Victoria Park, University District, Britannia, Garrison Corner and Bridgeland.

We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for updates on the exciting new development.
