With the restaurant industry being as fickle as it is, there have been a fair few casualties in Calgary over the last few weeks.

Whether they’ve already shuttered or just revealed that their closure is imminent, these recently closed spots will be missed by many.

From a popular hand-pulled noodle spot to an old-fashioned candy store, here are some of the biggest restaurant closures in Calgary.

Lina’s Trattoria, an Italian restaurant brought to life by Lina’s Market, revealed that it would be closing, after first opening its doors in August 2024.

“To our wonderful Calgary community, serving you has been the honor of a lifetime. You turned our dream into a reality, and we are eternally grateful for every meal and memory shared,” the team said.

However, it’s not the end of the line for the Centre Street space, as ownership of the restaurant has now transferred to another YYC Italian restaurant favourite, Scarpetta Cucina.

Pixie’s Candy Parlour

Pixie’s Candy Parlour has closed its location at The District in Calgary’s northeast after a decade.

“After a lot of discussions, we made the incredibly hard decision to not renew our lease here at The District. After 10 years, the rent simply became just too much,” said Jackie, founder of Pixie’s Candy Parlour, in a video on social media.

However, Pixie’s Candy is not disappearing. While the plan was always to move the store into the front space of its warehouse, there were some hurdles that prevented them from being able to open.
