Calgary’s first hand-pulled noodle restaurant is set to close one of its locations before the month is out.

Calan Beef Noodle revealed that it’ll be closing its downtown location, almost six years after it first opened its doors in the neighbourhood.

While the restaurant did not give a reason for the closure, it confirmed its final day of service at the location will be June 28.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support, loyalty, and memories shared with us over the years. It has been an honor serving the Downtown community and being part of your lunch breaks, family dinners, and special moments,” the team said in an Instagram post.

Calan Beef Noodle opened its OG outpost on Centre Street back in 2017, becoming Calgary’s first hand-pulled noodle restaurant, offering a taste of authentic Lanzhou-style cuisine. Its second location in downtown Calgary followed, opening in 2020.

Its noodles are pulled fresh daily, and used in dishes such as its signature braised beef noodle soup, stir-fried noodles and more.

While it’s sad to bid farewell to the downtown space, Calan Beef Noodle will still be operating at 2219 Centre St. N.
