New Calgary restaurant will transport you to the shores of Hawaii
We might be right in the middle of a cold snap in Calgary, but luckily, a brand-new restaurant is set to open in the city this week, and it’s bringing tropical vibes.
One of the city’s most highly anticipated openings, Aloha Modern Kitchen, is set to open its doors at #100 – 5920 Macleod Trail SW on February 13.
The restaurant, the new venture from the team behind The J Spot, offers Hawaiian-inspired eats and favourites from the existing J Spot menu, with handhelds, tacos, shareable plates and more.
During lunch, Aloha will offer plates loaded with your choice of protein, such as Aloha Poke, garlic shrimp, Kalbi rib, and a helping of rice and mac salad. There’ll also be sandwiches and tacos.
For dinner service, diners will be able to enjoy small bites, including oysters with Hawaiian chilli pepper water, Spam musubi and housemade kimchi, to name a few.
Its larger plates also bring a taste of island life with Huli Huli chicken, Maui ribs, garlic shrimp and its Loco Moco with smashed beef, rice, mushroom gravy and a fried egg.
Of course, no tropical adventure would be complete without a cocktail or two, and Aloha has an extensive menu of house cocktails, classics and even some frozen beverages.
