Notable Calgary cafe opening new downtown location this fall
There has been an influx of new cafes and bakeries opening in Calgary recently, with both brand-new concepts and expansions of local brands.
Of course, we’re always excited by a new addition, and one of the latest to share news is Alforno, which just revealed it will be opening a new downtown location at 707 5th St. SW this fall.
Since opening in 2015, Alforno, part of the Teatro Group, has become a staple in the city for its laid-back vibes, inspired by Italian café culture.

From coffee to handcrafted pastries and freshly baked bread, Alforno has gone from strength to strength, expanding to several YYC outposts, including a dine-in location in Eau Claire and cafes in First Street Market, Livingston, Gulf Canada Square, and Eighth Avenue Trattoria.
The new Alforno will be a welcome addition to Calgary’s downtown core; stay tuned for updates on its opening.
